The Law & Wellness Infusions

While our Medical Infusions are treatments for specific medical conditions, our Wellness Infusions are not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Wellness infusions should be used as a complementary wellness measure and not as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

IV infusions, including those containing only vitamins, minerals and nutrient supplements are regarded as having a therapeutic purpose (per s3 and 4 of the Medicines Act 1981), and are therefore considered medicines. Therefore, when being administered any Vitamin, Mineral, Nutrient, Supplement or Medicine by the IV route, these are considered either Approved or Unapproved medicines.

Approved medicines: while some ingredients used in our wellness infusions are approved medicines (such as magnesium and vitamin c), when used as part of a wellness infusion, these are often being used outside the approved indication, this is known as "off-label".

Unapproved Medicines: some ingredients used in wellness infusion are unapproved medicines in New Zealand (such as NAD+).

The Law & Unapproved Medicines / "Off-label" medicines: Unapproved and "off-label" medicines in New Zealand CAN still be safely and legally administered under Section 29 of the Medicines Act 1981. This requires the medicine to be prescribed by a New Zealand Registered Medical Practitioner, and report administrations accordingly through a prescribed method. MyHydrate administers ALL wellness infusions in conjunction with a Prescription from our partner Medical Practitioners.

Supply Chain: All our ingredients are procured from either New Zealand licensed / based Wholesale Pharmacies, or from New Zealand licensed / based Compounding Pharmacies. Ensuring only the highest quality products.

Advertising Specific Wellness Infusions: while we would love to advertise specific wellness infusions, Section 20 of the Medicines Act 1981 outlines that medicines that do not have the consent or are being administered as an unapproved or "off-label" medicine are unable to be directly advertised, however these can be discussed with you by contacting the team.
